On my last day in Paris, I took the train out and did a day trip to Versailles Palace. And boy of boy is this place fancy. There’s so much history here be it the signing of the Treaty of Versailles (which ended WWI and arguably started WWII) to the start of the French Revolution!
Picture, pictures, pictures. It’s easier to show than to say. So crazy opulent, no wonder the French rose up and revolted given the conditions of the aristocracy compared to the common classes. After all: Liberté, égalité, fraternité
TIP: If I did this again, I would do it BACKWARDS, that is to say, do the gardens first and THEN the palace. That way you avoid the crowds in the garden (as they’re inside), and then when you do go inside, the crowds are significantly reduced (as they will have gone outside!)
